Run AI assistants on your own computer
The AI assistants view can run its summaries on the suite’s AI (the default) or on your own computer. The Local option is per-user and opt-in: when you pick it, the prompt is sent from your browser to a model running on your machine, so the request never reaches the suite’s servers.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”- Open AI & Automation → AI assistants.
- In the Summarize & triage toolbar, open the AI provider selector next to the Summarize button.
Switch to Local
Section titled “Switch to Local”- Open the AI provider selector and choose Local.
- Set the model to run.
- Press Summarize on a work item.
The summary is produced on your machine and shown as a short bullet list. If the local provider is not reachable, the assistant falls back to the suite’s assistant so you still get a summary.
What changes (and what does not)
Section titled “What changes (and what does not)”- Summarize runs locally when Local is chosen. The prompt stays on your computer.
- Other assistants (for example Suggest priority / tracker and Natural language → VQL) continue to use the suite’s AI — only the summary is routed locally.
- You can switch back to the suite’s AI at any time; nothing is stored locally beyond your provider choice.
