Open a contact from a link

VNCcontacts understands deep links, so a reference to a contact anywhere in the suite opens that contact here — not the list, and not a blank page.

  • ?person=<id> opens that contact.
  • ?company=<id> opens that company.

For example, a link from another product that mirrors a person into your address book opens the person’s card directly.

Add &edit=1 to open the editor rather than the read-only card:

  • ?person=<id>&edit=1

This is what a product uses when it hands you a contact to change — the form is already open when you arrive.

  • The link resolves the id against your address book first, and falls back to the organization view, so a directory person opens as well as a contact.
  • If the link arrives while you are signed out, it is kept across the single sign-on round-trip — you are returned to the same record after you sign in.
