Controls in a meeting

Once you are in a meeting, the window carries its own controls. (For starting and joining, see Start or join a video meeting.)

  • Start share / Share screen — share your screen or a window.
  • Stop sharing — end the share.
  • Meeting actions — the menu of meeting commands.
  • Participants — the people in the meeting.
  • Show chat — show the in-meeting chat alongside the video.
  • Fullscreen (enlarge the meeting) and resize (drag to resize the panel).

Moderators get the Moderation controls:

Control What it does
Mute all Silence everyone at once.
Lobby (waiting room) Admit people before they join.
Make moderator Promote a participant.
Remove Take a participant out of the meeting.

Meetings are invite-only: only people you invite can join. Under Invite guests…:

  • Copy link — copy the meeting link (share it yourself).
  • Or enter the guest email and Create invite — the guest gets an email (Meeting invitation — {room}). The link works once, for one person, and expires with the call.
  • You can also create an invite without an email (Anyone with the link).

External guests open the link in the browser (they pass through the lobby). You can revoke an invite at any time.

While in the meeting, the AI menu offers Summary, Minutes and Transcript for the call — see AI summary and minutes.
